Keynote Speaker - Jaret DavisJaret L. Davis is the Co-Managing Shareholder for the Miami office of the international law firm of Greenberg, Traurig, P.A.  As Co-Managing Shareholder, he oversees approximately 170 attorneys and 200 business staff based in the firm’s founding office. Mr. Davis has represented numerous public and private companies as well as many startups and private equity, venture capital and angel investors with a particular industry focus on the IT and life sciences/biotech sectors. Mr. Davis served as lead shareholder of the 40+ attorney legal team representing Terremark Worldwide, Inc., a Nasdaq-listed provider of IT infrastructure, in connection with its acquisition by Verizon Communications, Inc.  The acquisition, which boasted an equity value of $1.4 billion and an enterprise value of $2 billion, was Verizon’s largest since its acquisition of MCI in 2005, ranking as both the largest pairing of a telco and a colocation provider and the largest transaction in the cloud computing space.  He has represented publicly traded clients having an aggregate market capitalization of over $8 billion.

A native of Miami, Mr. Davis serves in a number of civic capacities.  On October 1, 2015, Mr. Davis began his term as Chair-Elect of the Beacon Council, Miami-Dade County’s Official Economic Development Partnership.  He also currently serves as Co-Founder of and General Counsel to the annual eMerge Americas global technology conference based in Miami, Florida and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, a global thought-leader within the realm of Healthcare IT and Digital Health solutions.

Mr. Davis graduated magna cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law where he was a member of the executive editorial board of and published in the University of Miami  Law Review. He also served as the first African-American Chief (President) of the Iron Arrow Honor Society, the leading honor society at the university.  He has served in a number of volunteer capacities within the University of Miami, including as former President of the University of Miami Law Alumni Association, a member of the Council of Elders of the Iron Arrow Honor Society, a member of the Select Projects Fund of the Citizen’s Board and a member of the University of Miami Law Review Alumni Advisory Board and the University of Miami School of Law Moot Court Advisory Board.
